GForce has introduced a modern version of the 1985 Oberheim Matrix-12, a synth noted for its intricate architecture of twelve voices, dual oscillators per voice, a filter with fifteen modes, five envelopes, five LFOs and multiple additional modulation sources. The new model retains the original’s deep routing capabilities while adding a visual display that shows modulation connections in real time. This visual feedback aims to simplify programming the complex signal paths that set the Matrix-12 apart from many analog units of its era. The update was first reported by Magnetic Magazine.
