Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data OUTPUT 101 collects when you use output101.com, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

Who is responsible

OUTPUT 101 is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at [email protected] about anything in this policy.

What we collect and why

Music submissions

When you submit your music we receive the details you enter: your name or artist name, e-mail address, location, genres, links and message. We use them only to listen to your music, reply to you and, with your agreement, feature you. The legal basis is your request. We keep submissions for up to two years, or less if you ask us to delete them.

Messages

If you write to us, we keep the conversation for as long as needed to answer and follow up.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with our own statistics, without cookies. We do not store IP addresses. To count unique visitors, we combine your IP address and browser details with a random key that changes every day and keep only the resulting anonymous code, which cannot be linked to you or across days. Along with it we record the page you visited, the website that sent you there and the type of device. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we do not count your visit at all. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.

Reactions

When you react to a story, set or article, your browser stores a random code in its local storage so it can remember your reactions. We store an anonymous version of that code with the reaction. To prevent abuse we also keep a code derived from your IP address that changes every day; it cannot be traced back to you. No account is needed and no profile is built.

Cookies

Visitors get no cookies by default. If you switch between light and dark mode, a cookie remembers your choice. Our editors get a session cookie when they log in to the editorial panel.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to keep the service secure and working.

Embedded players

Sets and tracks are played through YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) and, where used, players such as SoundCloud, Spotify, Bandcamp or Mixcloud. These players only load when you press play; from then on, the provider may collect data under its own privacy policy.

Artificial intelligence

Our news wire and some articles are written with the help of AI services, which receive only public news content. Your personal data, including submissions, is never sent to them.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. It is processed only by the services we need to run the site, such as our hosting and e-mail providers, under agreements that protect it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Write to [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).

Changes

We will update this page if the way we handle data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
